Kids Kard Kits

HI!!!!  Glad you came back.  I've been slowly working on some projects for the craft fair I have in September.  Trying to build stock up.  It's fun but difficult to be inside sometimes when it is so beautiful outside.  At least it is cool though:)

So here is what I have to show you today.  These are already selling to friends before I even get them all done.  Hopefully they will do just as good on the weekend of the fair.

This set is for the girls.  Images of girls or girl-related and layered on cardstock.  The sentiments are already to mount on to the card once the kids color them.  This way, they still decide which one to send to who they want and for whatever the occasion.  There are 5 per set, 5 sentiments already to mount on and a couple of markers to get them started.  And here is the packaging.

And for the boys, same thing only using guy-related images:

This one is all robots and space.  Couple others already packaged up for giving.

Monkeys and cars/trucks.
I like how they turned out.  I hope they will sell well.  Gotta get some more sets done and restock the girls sets.  Perfect for kids that want to create their own card for the special occasion.

Hope to see you back here tomorrow:)

Jumbo clip bookmarks

ETA:  I added a Guest Book to my sidebar (below Followers) :)  Would love for you to take a moment to sign it while you are here visiting.  Thanks & hugs

Yeah, it's Friday!  I love Fridays cause it means the weekend
is about to begin.  And I have lots to do ............

So let's get started:

Lookie what I did!  Lots of bookmarks using the jumbo paper clips.  My kids helped me color some of the images and I assembled and packaged them all.
These will be at the next craft fair in September.

Here is another view:

and a closeup of a few of my favorites.  Aren't they cute?!  Really easy to do and my kids love using them.  Mostly my daughter - the boys don't read much anymore.
I used SU cardstock for the background and the Scallop Oval punch for the front.  The little For You stamp is from Elements of Style out of the Occasions mini.  I love that stamp set.  Scallop circle punch was used for the images.

See, I've been busy.  Lots more to show you so I hope you come back for a visit.

Happiness & Harmony

I've been working on some more of these Frameable quotes similar to this one.

This DSP from SU is retired as well as the stamp set.  Miscellaneous punches were used for the leaves and a  Big Shot decorative strip die was used for the bird and branches below.  I had it for a while before I finally pulled it out and tried it.  I really like it and can see using it on altered address books, frames, or even journals.  I really like the colors of this frame with the tropical flowers and glitter in the centers.  The bird also has some sponging and glitter.

Anyway, see you all tomorrow. Thanks for dropping in.

King of the Grill

Since I need masculine cards, I decided to do another.

This one is fairly simple using the King of the Grill stamp set from the Occasions mini.  Awesome stamp set for Father's Day, birthdays for young or old.  I used my markers to color it.  I know you can't see it and I tried to take a picture but it wouldn't show up, the highlighting on the smoke on the bottom, the BBQ knobs, the flipper and the tires.  Looks much better in person.

Thanks for stopping by.............I'm off to try and cool down.  It has been hot here but I'm not complaining.  Maybe the beach is in order for later:)

IN LOVING MEMORY OF.....

Mr. Bruce Stewart
January 26, 1957-July 20, 2010

He was more than just our school principal - he was all our friend.  I want to dedicate this post to one of the kindest, sweetest and most generous men we had the priviledge of knowing.  After a year long battle from AMYLOIDOSIS, Bruce peacefully passed away on the morning of July 20th, 2010.
This man had a great sense of humor.  He was always smiling, joking with the kids, loved and collected bug cars and his office was FULL of them to prove it.  He would greet and chat with parents outside or in the hallway - he loved everyone and had a special way of showing them they were important.  He has been a huge void in our school.

Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends through this difficult time. God Speed Bruce.

He Only Takes the Best

God saw he was getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So He put his arms around him
And whispered, "Come with me".

With tear-filled eyes,
We watched him fade away.
Although we loved him deeply,
We could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating
Hard-working hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

We will all miss you.

It's a Wrap................

Beach wrap!  I did this beach wrap for my daughter.  I loved the color and it matched her bathing suit perfectly.  The front has a flamingo embroidered on the front.

This is one that we did for her girlfriends' birthday gift.

And a closeup of the monkey surfing on a banana peel.  Personalized with her name as well.  She loved it.

Off to do some more so I will see you soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

Masculine Card

I need more masculine cards.  This was a super simple card to do and quick.  I used the Motorcycle from Stampin' Up! and colored it with markers and all SU cardstock.

Not sure how well you can see it, but I used my glitter pen to highlight parts of the motorcycle.  Also used the new folder Square Lattice from the SU mini.  Love this folder.  It reminds me of Aida cloth or textured fabric.
Hope you can stop by again soon.

Footprints

This is one of my favorite poems.  I have it in a stamp so I decided to use it on a journal front.  The Designer paper is a great color combo too. I got these papers last year at the Dollar Store.  The Top Note die is a favorite.   The seashells were glued on.
A nice gift for someone to take to the beach.  Some quiet time, enjoy the beauty and write down there thoughts.  I can picture it now.............LOL.  Not with my three kids.  Just kidding.  I'd have to go alone or to a beach where there was no one else.

Thanks for stopping by.  See you next time............

Golf Anyone?

Not me that's for sure.  I only like mini golf.  I did go on a field trip with my daughter's class though last month and it was a lot of fun.  And that is what lead me to see that her teachers' liked golfing.  From yesterday's post you would know that my daughter's teacher and her husband both teach there, same grades too.  So whenever there is a field trip, both of them go and both classes.

A couple of years ago, I made my son's teacher a golf towel and he later told me that the first time he went out golfing with his towel that I made, he got a hole-in-one.  So I figured I would do the same for them this year.  They both like blues, so I did hers in lighter and his the darker.

So those are hers.  The little zippered net pocket is for change, keys, whateever you need to keep handy with you instead of in a pocket.  There is also a swivel hook on top to clip on to the golf bag.

Obviously, I did the tropical flower for her since she likes tropical and his a little more masculine.  Matching golf towels - cute!!
In September, I will see if they got a chance to use them and if they got a hole-in-one.  Hoping they did.
I'm off to play.  I've been getting back into it again. Finally and it feels good.  I got lots planned.

Until next time................

Tropical Tote for Teacher

This was the tote I did for my daughter's teacher.  She loves tropical as much as me and purses too.  It was perfect size for summer wear or beach and as well to hold her other gifts.

I added a pocket to the inside and did a magnetic closure to the top.  Next time I will add purse feet to the bottom to help protect and keep it clean, plus it looks much more finished.  The handles are chocolate brown and braided and attached to a brown wooden ring.  I just love the color combo of this decor fabric.  These are the colors I am going to have in my studio when my husband builds it for me:)

And again, my logo done in colors to match the purse.

And to make it look all professional and pretty like, I put all the gifts in the purse and wrapped it in cellophane.  I think it looks awesome.

You can see some of the other goodies in there but you will have to come back to see what they actually are.
I have to say that I was so happy when Shaelyn gave this gift to her teacher.  The look on her face, she had tears, and was just looking at me and shaking her head.  She knows that I can't buy, and have to make everything.  I wanted to do a little extra for her as well and I knew she would like the purse and colors.  She is one of the best teachers we have ever had and my son had her 5 years ago.  We were lucky to get her again.  Next year, we could also get her or her husband.  Either one is awesome.
So if you can, come and visit again soon to see what the gifts were inside.

Enjoy your day!!!!!

The Bird Has a Song

Hello - the start of a new week.  I hope to get lots done this week if all goes well.  My To-do list is planned and ready:)

I made some Frameable Quotes for the May Days craft fair.  They are made from chipboard coasters and I just die cut a frame opening and layered using designer paper and embellishments.  The cool thing is they can be fridge magnets or sit up on a easel-type back on a desk or fireplace, etc.

The bird die cut and branches are from Stampin' Up!  The DSP is as well but retired.  Here is a side close up:

They were fun to do and I'm working on some more for September.

Thanks for stopping by:)

Make a Wish

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  Our weather was gorgeous, but honestly it was hard for me to get into any crafting/sewing.  Don't know why, maybe because of the weather:)

Today I want to share with you a journal that I altered.  We gave it to my daughter's girlfriend as part of her birthday gift.

I just love altering journals and address books! And this little fairy image with the frog was fun to color and soooo cute. There is a little bit of glitter on her wings, but it is hard to see as well as on the pink punched flower. Hope you can see it when you clik in the picture of the closeup.  The papers are from the Dollar store from last year.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you visit tomorrow. Enjoy your evening.

Grommets

So today, as promised a few days ago, I want to share with you the gift my daughter made for her friend's birthday gift.
Shaelyn has always sewn a little with me for a couple of years, but last year I put her into a sewing camp that a local quilt shop (Linda's Quilt Shop) puts on for kids during the summer.  It is awesome - Monday to Friday, 9-12 and munchies are all included and they make 3 projects.  She loved it.  So in August, she is doing the next level.  She is really excited and I'm glad she is enjoying it.  My Mother would be very proud of her, as am I.
OK, so on to the purse.  We got this pattern a couple of days ago and Shaelyn decided it would make a great birthday gift.  I thought she was right and could probably sew most of it with a little guidance.

Pretty cute huh?  And not difficult.  Her friend loves purple so Shae chose two co-ordinating fabrics.  We lined the inside with black and added pockets with one of the printed fabrics.  You can also see in the close up picture of the pocket, I made a label for her to put inside to make it a little more personalized.  You have to print backwards and then iron it on.  I think it is a perfect touch.

And here is a close up of the grommets.  They are so simple to use since they just snap on.
I helped her with the lining and the handles, but Shae did the pocket herself.  They are actually the perfect size for a young lady or yourself.  I will have to try and do another one for my now:)

We just wrapped the other gifts and put them inside - except for one other larger bulkier gift that wouldn't fit and I will show you that soon too.  We were at the beach yesterday afternoon and I got some pictures of Shaelyn using hers so you could have a better view of it.
So that is if for today.  We are going to all go and see Eclipse tonite.  Shae has already seen it, but is totally game on going again.  I wonder why LOL.
Anyway, I will talk at you all tomorrow.  Have a great weekend!

Horse Whisperer

I want to share with you this video of a gal and a horse.  It's called Horse Whisperer.  You don't have to be a horse lover like me to enjoy this either.  I got tears and goosebumps watching it.  To have that feeling with a beautiful horse....... and trust - WOW!!!  And notice that it is just her and the horse - no bit, no saddle. She just uses signals and verbal cues, she says nothing. Oh yeah, and this isn't even her horse.  She is training it for someone else, although she obviously has an awesome relationship with this beauty.

I didn't know how to put in the YouTube screen so I am giving you the link:)  Hope you enjoy!!

Sweet dreams!
